North Olympic Pony Run – May 4, 2024 (East)

Start at Price Ford/Lincoln, 3311 E Hwy 101, Port Angeles, WA 98362

1.  Price Ford to 7 Cedars Casino Segment

Turn right and head west to 2nd stop light at S. Brook Ave (0.8 miles, 1 min.) and turn left.

Travel 150 ft and then turn Left again at the intersection of N Brook Ave and Kemp St. and travel back on Kemp St to Mt Pleasant Rd (0.4-mile, 2 min).

Turn left onto Mt Pleasant Rd and travel 300 ft to US-101.

Turn right and head east on US-101 E toward Sequim and travel to 7 Cedars Casino. 19.4 mi (23 min.)

20-minute stop at the 7 Cedars Casino back parking lot (Bar and Restroom available)

2.  7 Cedars Casino to Port Gamble Segment

Turn right from 7 Cedars Casino onto US-101 and travel to Chicken Coop Road (0.8-mile, 1 min).

Turn right on Chicken Coop Road and travel 3.6 miles (7 min.)

Turn right onto US-101 toward Fat Smitties at Discovery Bay and travel 8 miles (7 min)

Drive past Fat Smitties on US-101, then take WA 104. Total of 19 mi (21 min.) from Fat Smitties to Port Gamble.  This segment includes crossing the Hood Canal Bridge and a left turn after crossing the bridge.

We shall stop for 20 minutes at Port Gamble for restroom break and leg stretch.

3.  Port Gamble to Buck Lake County Park Segment (in Hansville)

From Port Gamble turn left onto WA-104 and travel to WA-307 (Bond Road) (3.7 miles, 5 min).

Turn left at WA-307/NE WA-104 (Bond Road) signal.

Travel east on NE WA-104 to Signal at Hansville Road NE (1.5 miles, 3 min).

Turn left and travel north to Old Hansville Road (2.6 miles, 4 min.).

Turn right onto Old Hansville Road travel 1.4 miles, 4 min back to Hansville Rd NE.

Turn right onto Hansville Rd NE and travel 3.5 miles to Buck Lake Road NE.

Turn left onto Buck Lake Road NE and travel 0.8 miles to the parking lot at Greater Hansville Comm. Ctr.

20-minute stop at the Buck Lake Community Center parking lot. NOMC will provide light refreshments (water, chips and cookies). Restroom is available.

4.  Buck Lake County Park to Diamond Point Segment

From Buck Lake Community Center parking lot turn left and return to Hansville Rd NE.

Turn left at Hansville Road NE and travel north.

Hansville Rd NE turns into NE Twin Spits Road to Hood Canal Drive NE (2.2 miles, 5 min.).  Watch out for speed tables through the Hansville area.

Turn left at Hood Canal Dr NE and travel 3.6 miles, 7 min to NE Cliffside Rd.

Turn left onto NE Cliffside Rd and travel 0.6-mile 1 min to Little Boston Rd NE.

Turn left on to Little Boston Road and travel 0.9-mile 1 min to Hansville Rd NE.

Turn right onto Hansville Rd NE and travel 3.3 miles 4 min to NE 288th St.

Turn right onto NE 288th St and travel 2.3 miles, 4 min. to WA-104.

Turn right onto WA-104 and travel through Port Gamble and to the Hood Canal Bridge (1.5 miles, 4 min.)

Travel on WA-104 15.7 miles and merge with US-101 in 15.7 miles, 17 min.

Follow US-101 for 6.5 miles to Old Gardiner RD.

Turn right onto Old Gardiner Rd and travel 2.2 miles, 4 min. to Gardiner Beach Road

Turn right at Gardiner Beach Road

Travel on Gardiner Beach Road (2.1 miles, 5 min.) to Diamond Point Road (This road goes by Troll Haven Farms)

Turn right onto Diamond Point Road and travel 3.5 miles to the S Diamond Shore Ln complete the Beach Dr loop (0.8 miles).

We shall not stop, only drive by.

5.  Diamond Point to Price Ford Segment

After loop, turn right back onto Diamond Point Road and travel to US-101 (4 miles, 7 min)

Turn right onto US-101 and return to Price Ford in Port Angeles (22.8 miles, 26 min.)

Final Stop is Price Ford for refreshments and socializing.
